Crochet Pattern: Sunflower 3D Granny Square

Welcome to my crochet corner! Today, I’m thrilled to share with you a delightful pattern that’s sure to brighten up your crafting experience: the 3D Sunflower Granny Square. Materials

Yarn:
Milk Cotton – Light Yellow, 1 skein
Milk Cotton – Coffee, 1 skein
Milk Cotton – Pearl, 1 skein

Hook: USG/4mm

Glossary

ch – chain stitch
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc -double crochet
BL or BLO – back loop or back loop only
FL or FLO – front loop or front loop only
ps or puff – puff stitch
ch-sp – chain space

Pattern Instructions

Color 1: Coffee / Brown
Color 2: Light Yellow / Yellow
Color 3: Pearl / Cream

SQUARE:

Using 4mm hook and Color 1, create a magic ring.

Row 1

1. ch 3 then 11 dc in ring.
2. sl st to close row.

Total of 12 dc. Chain included in the count.

Row 2

1. ch 3
2. 1 puff st in between dc then ch. Repeat until end.
3. sl st to close row.

Total of 12 puffs, 12ch-sp

Row 3

1. sl st into ch-sp then ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, ch, skip 1 puff
2. on the next ch-sp, do 3 dc, ch, skip 1 puff. Repeat until the end
3. sl st to close row.

Total of 36 dc

Fasten off color 1. Change to color 2

Row 4

1. ch then sc in each dc and ch-sp.
2. sl st to close row.

Total of 48sc

Fasten off color 2. Change to color 3.
All sts in row 5 are made in BLO:

Row 5

1. ch 3 then dc in same st
2. ch 2, 2 dc in next st, dc in next st, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next 4 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, dc in next st, 2 dc in next st. Repeat 3 times omitting final 2 dc on last side.
3. sl st to close row.

Total of 24 dc, 16 hdc,16 sc

Row 6

1. sl st in next st, sl st in ch-sp
2. ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc in ch-sp, dc in each st to next ch-sp
3. 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch-sp, dc in each st to next ch-sp. Repeat twice ending last rep at starting ch
4. sl st to close row.

Total of 72 dc

Row 7
Repeat row 6. Total of 88 dc.

Fasten off color 3.

PETALS:

Change to color 2. All sts in row 1 are made in FLO:

Row 1

1. ch 3, dc in same st
2. ch 3, skip 1 st, 2 dc in next st, ch, skip 1 st, 2 dc in next st. Repeat until end omitting last 2 dc.
3. sl st to close row.

Total of 48 dc

Row 2

1. sl st in next st, slst in ch-sp.
2. ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in same ch-sp.
3. sc in ch-1-sp.
4. 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in ch-sp, sc in ch-sp. Repeat until end.
5. sl st to close row.

Total of 12 petals, 12 sc

Fasten off color 2.
